Skiddle: system. and set one twenty bring fuse to leeds

Having worked together on an epic sell out show in October last year, Fuse and System. continue their prized partnership by reconvening once more, this time at Mint Warehouse on May 3rd.

Held across 15 hours, the venue’s first outdoor rave of the year will see System. also hook up with Set One Twenty to bring a frankly enormous line up to the city, the biggest you’ll witness this side of festival season.

IBIZA SPOTLIGHT REVIEW | FUSE at Hearn St Car Park, 21st February

This weekend saw the last planned party at the iconic Hearn Street Car Park. The one-room wonder is unfortunately being handed over to property developers (boo!) so who better to give it a proper send off than the incredible FUSE family.

mixmag Hearn Street Car Park

For the last ever planned event at London’s Hearn Street car park, Fuse London will take control.

The party on February 21 will feature the full Fuse crew rolling through with Enzo Siragusa, Seb Zito, Rossko, Rich NXT, Archie Hamilton, Ittetsu and Antony Difrancesco all getting involved.

Fuse has a reputation for throwing some superb parties as well as releasing chunky techno goodness via its record label, so this event is not one to be missed.

It’s October and the sun starts to set earlier in the sky and the winter clothes start to come out. For the vast majority of people this is seen as a negative aspect of living in the UK, however for those that like to party and party properly, the autumn and winter brings some of the best club nights and line ups that can be found in the UK. Forget festivals, watered down pints and wellies. Think more dark rooms, sweat, loud sound systems and set times where you can fully appreciate a DJ’s sound and record collection.

I headed north to Leeds where I was checking out one of the most highly regarded underground clubs in the country, Mint Club, where local party brand System hold monthly events throughout the year. System started life as a tiny party on an estate just outside of the city centre. For a party of its size, it amazingly managed to attract ravers across Europe, such was its notoriety in an intimate setting. After outgrowing this venue, System’s owners decided to take the brand to another level and bought Mint Club, another intimate club, however with a raised capacity to elevate their booking power to be and located right in the heart of the city. For the last 5 years they have become known as a staple event in the north of England for quality events featuring some of the very best DJs in house and techno. Giants like Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Richie Hawtin and Luciano have all graced previous events.

On Tuesdays in Ibiza there is only one place to head to for the more discerning clubber. This is in the form of one of London’s best underground club nights and labels FUSE. Originally a Sunday daytime after party event in the heart of East London, where it still holds monthly parties, the event has grown and brought its real club ethics approach to the White Isle every Tuesday (Fuseday) at Sankeys.

FUSE is built around a stripped back approach that focuses fully on the music, sound system and vibe of the night. The party has amassed a loyal following who swear by the sound dubbed “Fusic”. With regular vinyl only releases on the FUSE and sister label INFUSE, this is one of the most unique and organic sounds on the island. Many nights in Ibiza have a focus on big name guests, however for FUSE the line ups are based on residents and artists that are close friends of the label. A foundation of respect and trust can be felt amongst the DJs that are playing. We took the walk through Playa D’en Bossa to attend their recent residents only party.

Fuse At Sankeys Ibiza Opening Party: In Review

FUSE is one of the most underground nights on the island, and the fact that Sankeys Ibiza was packed last night is testament to the FUSE brand and its loyal following.

Built around the residents, who serve to massively propel the FUSE brand around the world, the party has carved out a niche here in Ibiza as a special night for those in the know. With its stripped back feel and anything goes attitude, Tuesday’s at Sankeys reflect the atmosphere that the original London Sunday daytime the party was built upon – an atmosphere that’s translated to Ibiza with ease.

Ibiza Club News: Andrew Leese questions Enzo Siragusa

How did it all begin?

Fuse all started as an after party at the end of 2008 at 93 Feet East on Brick Lane in Shoreditch, London. It was very much an after thought for a party, it was a bit of a messy sort of afters. We used to do Saturday nights as our main focus & this party just started out of nothing & grew very very quickly. In just a few months we went from 150 people to ridiculous numbers through the door – it all kind of spiralled out of control really (laughs).

RA News: Fuse takes control of Tuesdays Sankeys Ibiza

Fuse London has revealed its plans for the 2014 Ibiza season, which will drop anchor at Sankeys from May 27th through September 30th.

The East London outfit has been a fixture at the Playa d’en Bossa club since its inception in 2011, though they only scored a full residency last year. Following a successful debut run, Fuse Ibiza will return across 19 weeks this summer, moving from Wednesday to Tuesday nights. Once again, the lineups comprise mainly of Fuse residents and close affiliates, with Enzo Siragusa (17 dates), Seb Zito (12 dates), Rossko (nine dates) and Rich NxT (five dates) all locked in.

Ibiza Spotlight – Fuse reveals Ibiza plans 2014

FUSE is back on the island for Ibiza summer number six – and returning to its traditional slot on Tuesday nights. FUSE has gone from strength to strength since joining forces with the like-minded team at Sankeys Ibiza, to the point that the FUSE fanbase on-island is now nearly as vast and dedicated as the army of loyal followers in the party’s home ground of London.

Pulse Radio interviews Enzo Siragusa

Enzo Siragusa is someone who has slowly built a huge reputation for himself in the London underground scene, and this reputation has seen Enzo play at countless top venues throughout the clubbing world. Enzo’s Fuse brand has grown from its humble beginnings into one of the most recognisable and respected brands in the underground house scene, spawning parties with huge artists across Europe and two highly successful record labels. Enzo Siragusa will be returning to Ibiza this summer for the biggest Fuse season yet, and is sure to consolidate his reputation as a champion of the underground on the White Isle. We caught up with Enzo to chat about all things Fuse, his relationship with Ibiza and making people cry with certain track selections…

RA Fuse Ibiza Closing Party Review

After a much needed interval, it was off to Sankeys for Fuse on Wednesday eve. Sad news met the faithful throng as they entered the club’s double-doors: Enzo Siragusa was ill and would be unable to perform. In his place, Julian Perez and Guti would act as stand-ins. The former opened up proceedings, engaging in a three-way back-to-back-to-back alongside warm-up specialists Rossko and Seb Zito. The trio turned in the set of the night, moving from tempered, tumbling house through to funkier techno. Throwing in the odd breakbeat and sensuous vocal for good measure, it’s hard to think of anywhere showcasing more competent warm-up DJing in Ibiza this summer.

RA Ibiza End of Season Review

Fuse were the season’s surprise package. Returning for a full residency after a handful of parties in 2012, it looked unceratin as to whether Enzo Siragusa and co. could translate their London dominance to Ibiza. Ploughing ahead with majority in-house lineups, Fuse proved all doubters wrong. The secrets to their success? Knowing their target-market and relying on a team of very good resident DJs.

Pulse Radio Fuse Ibiza Event Review

Entering September, the last full month of the infamous Ibiza season, there’s a buzz in the air. The weight of August has left, and the excitement and anticipation for the beginning of the closing parties is now truly palpable, giving everyone a renewed bounce in their step, including the masters of deep tech, Fuse and company.

Enzo Siragusa RA Exchange

Big things often have inauspicious beginnings. That’s certainly the case with the cult East London party Fuse, which Enzo Siragusa started because he didn’t feel like going to bed come Sunday morning. Now in its fifth year, Fuse has become an integral part of Sundays for a certain strain of London clubber. Siragusa and friends have also begun taking on the wider world of dance music, throwing parties in Ibiza and curating a label that’s elevated their brand of dubby house music. Siragusa has certainly been on the rise these last few years, but he’s no overnight sensation: Fuse is the culmination of more than a decade spent in the rave and behind the decks. Ahead of his set at the inaugural edition of SONUS festival in Croatia, RA’s Saoirse Ryan caught up with Siragusa to find out how it all came together and, in the face of a venue switch-up and a new focus on the White Isle, to gauge where Fuse might be headed.

RA – Rich NxT Bristle EP

Fuse have been running their Sunday parties in Blighty’s capital for the last two years or so. It’s the sound of those parties, where the likes of Loco Dice, Geddes and Davide Squillace have all headlined in the past, that’s now being put down on their label. Rich NxT is one of a number of local residents, and he presents a collection of more-than-just-functional tech house here by hewing out clear and engaging features.

RA – Loco Dice at Fuse London

Fuse has been a solid fixture of London’s club scene since its inception two years ago. Regularly packing them in at their home of 93 Feet East—the venue that first housed Secretsundaze—the night has fostered a fiercely loyal following and a truly balls-to-the-wall approach to partying on a Sunday. Although the music played is stereotypically deep and restrained, the crowd are relentlessly feverish and have a sense of hedonism that shows rude disregard to the idea of work the following morning. With former guests like Matthias Tanzmann and Ryan Crosson, there have been plenty of memorable nights: yet it was their 99th party, and the surprise appearance of Loco Dice, that felt like the moment Fuse truly arrived.

Pulse Radio – Lighting the Fuse

After five years of parties on the island, London clubbing institution Fuse has landed it’s first official weekly residency on the White Isle at Sankeys Ibiza. Aside from mixing an exclusive set for us, Pulse decided to dig a bit deeper into the history of the underground clubbing brand and spoke to regulars Enzo Siragusa and Seb Zito about guestlist only events, relocation to the island and the expected vibes at their weekly Wednesday night parties, running all season long.

although my weekend started with changing my flight cos of fucking sickness, i finally made it to london on sunda. in time :) i played for the second time for fuse, for me the best party in london at the moment and not only because there is slowly slowly no good club left in london, no because these guys run a party driven by their feelings and there is so much heart in it… everyone who ever played there can tell. this sunday i was playing with robert dietz, daniel stefanik, enzo siragusa and theire residents chrissy maranello and luke miskelly. i played the closing set, and when i stoped playing cheering people gave me an amazing feedback – i had goosebumps! i will come back there, that’s for sure.

Ibiza Voice – Blowing a Fuse at Ushuaia

If you’ve see the videos or been to Delano on Tuesdays last year, or even if you’ve even spent a Sunday at 93 Feet East in the last 2 years, then you’d have known what to expect at Ushuaia the day after DC10 opening last week. Certainly the few hundred-odd FUSE faithful who’d followed tINI and resident/founder Enzo Siragusa straight from a packed out Sunday in Brick Lane to Ibiza on the Monday morning flight were prepared for what was about to happen.

Ibiza Spotlight – Beach Parties 2010: Fuse at Ushuaia

Anyone witness to the carnage caused by these parties in London or, at Delano, in Ibiza last year, will be well happy they’re back for 5 Tuesday parties in 2010.

RA – Matthias Tanzmann in London

The Fuse residents did a solid job of keeping to the party’s musical mission statement: Rolling hi-hats, constant ebbs of sub bass and an array of cut-up soul samples are staples of the Manneheim sound. However a tendency to delve into Derrick Carter-esque house and Speed Garage style re-edits kept the music from becoming predictable. As Tanzmann stepped on to the stage, there was a noticeable lull in the crowd’s energy as many halted their previously feverish dancing in anticipation of the German DJ’s musical entrance.

Ibiza Voice – Tuesday is Fuseday on the beach

Fuse breaks rules

Out of nowhere last Tuesday – which will forever be known in the annals of Ibiza as Fuse-day – the best-kept secret party of the island exploded right in the middle of Playa D’en Bossa. Twelve hours of sublime beach tech-house from Delano resident Nima Gorji, Fuse’s Enzo Siragusa and Seb Zito and pretty much the whole of Fuse London dancing in the sunshine and well beyond made this day the most talked about happening so far this summer.
